Catch That Shadow
The eclipse in North Yorkshire will be a partial eclipse, which means the harmful rays of the Sun will always be there to burn your eyes. See ‘Safe Viewing’
On 11th August 1999 the Moon’s shadow will race across North Yorkshire from West to East faster than Concorde. You will not be able to see the shadow as it passes you because it is too faint to see on the ground. However, with your help we should be able to measure its speed by making observations of the Sun.
