At Carew Castle, a whole new wing was added during the 16th century. You can see that the walls, although built of stone, are quite thin, and that the windows are very large.

This section was added on to what had been a very strong castle, and it is interesting to look at the other side of the building, where you can still see the very thick walls and some of the original tiny windows.
