Almost all the castles in Britain are ruins. What we see today are the broken pieces of great buildings where real people lived and worked and sometimes fought. But how can we find out what those buildings were like to live in?

What we need to do is to look for clues. The ruins have a story to tell us if we can find out how to read it.
