Name | Lesley |
---|
Location | Nottingham, UK |
---|
Age | 45 |
---|
Diagnosed condition | Lone AF |
---|
Years with condition | Ten years diagnosed |
---|
Frequency of episodes | Constantly in and out on a daily basis |
---|
Duration of episodes | Usually short |
---|
Event preceding first AF | None, but diagnosed when pregnant with first child |
---|
General health | Good |
---|
Current state | OK, but I feel like I'm always operating 20% below par |
---|
Triggers | I have no known triggers, and think that I have adrenal rather than vagal AF, so it does get worse when I am stressed or nervous. I do however, avoid excessive caffine, only one cup of tea or coffee a day, and very little alcohol. I am very careful not to overdo it phyisically. My AF always gets worse when I have a virus, or any other minor illness. |
---|
Preventions | None, it seems to come and go at will. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | Bisoprolol fumarate 10mg
Flecanide 25mg morning and night
Aspirin 300mg
Bad circulation - I always have cold hands and feet |
---|
Past medications/side effects | Atenolol - made my hair fall out |
---|
History of surgery | None |
---|
Future plans | At the moment I am waiting it out. The UK seems a bit behind the States and France with regard to ablations. Also, due to the complicated pattern of electrical impulses that make up my very erratic heart beat, I have been told that it may be difficult to ablate my heart anyway. |
