Name | David Silver |
---|
Location | Hawaii |
---|
Age | 47 |
---|
Diagnosed condition | Atrial Fibrillation, Arrhythmia |
---|
Years with condition | 15 years |
---|
Frequency of episodes | currently dealing with Arrythmia all the time, Afib is 1-2X per week |
---|
Duration of episodes | 10 mintues to 8 days |
---|
Event preceding first AF | Always seemed related to cold or flu....thought eating bananas was the cure |
---|
General health | I could take better care of myself. I smoke, but that does not seem to have much impact...and I have clear lungs. Major problem with weight control as every time I exercise, I go into Afib |
---|
Current state | Sick and tired of the meds, the fatigue, under too much work stress |
---|
Triggers | Work stress, cardio workouts, caffeine (none for 15 years), sleeping on my left side, bending down and standing too quickly, not getting enough sleep, colds and flu. |
---|
Preventions | Not certain what that means |
---|
Current medications/side effects | amiodorone (200 mg per day) and one aspirin. Low energy, trouble sleeping, swollen ( retaining water), and,um flatulance and smelly urine. Ok, its a bit graphic, but its the truth. |
---|
Past medications/side effects | Tambocor - Gave me Ventricular Fib after 1.5 years
Digoxin - out of breath all the time
attenolol - same as dogoxin |
---|
History of surgery | None, unless you consider two internal cardio conversions. I have a consultation with Dr. Natale (Cleveland Clinic) at Marin General in December and am currently wait-listed for RF Ablation with Dr. Natale. |
---|
Future plans | See above. I am hoping to get my energy back to enjoy life. |
---|
Personal comments | I appreciate everyone's contribution to this website and the yahoo support group. Without it, I would not be seeing Dr. Natale next month. There is no one in Hawaii who does the RF ablation so I figured I would wait for the best. |
