Name | Darren |
---|
Location | Melbourne, Australia |
---|
Age | 39 |
---|
Diagnosed condition | Atrial Fibrilation |
---|
Years with condition | Recall an episode in1995, but diagnosed July 2002 |
---|
Frequency of episodes | Average 3 to 4 weeks apart . |
---|
Duration of episodes | 18 hrs down to 4hrs |
---|
Event preceding first AF | Concussion/ electrocution well before 1995 |
---|
General health | Well, don't smoke anymore, drink everything Bourbon,VB, & wine. |
---|
Current state | Presently in sinus although today I have been feeling it trying to come on. |
---|
Triggers | I would suggest a combination of heartburn, chocolate and alcohol tied in with a big late meal and a kip will start it in the early hours of the next morning whilst resting.
|
---|
Preventions | Avoid eating rubbish food after dinner.Get on top of the heart burn as I think that is a big contributer, |
---|
Current medications/side effects | Was on Zantac after an Endoscopy in 1997, thaught they may have caused it so stopped them a week ago, havn't exactly had afib yet! I take Aspro when I get an attack and drink 2 or 3 coffees, this usually kicks me back to sinus within an hour.
|
---|
Past medications/side effects | Zantac works well for heartburn but not sure if it contributes to Afib probably not.
Was given Flecanide once on the first diagnosis which worked in 45 min. |
---|
History of surgery | Had an endoscopy in my stomach which confirmed a Hiatis Hernia. Note if I take up smoking the heartburn goes within weeks, or has in the past. |
---|
Future plans | Continue to enjoy life, cop this thing but continue to try and find a common link , to help us all! |
