Triggers | 3 years ago when this happened I was smoking, and drinking regular coffee, and drinking beer 2 or 3 days a week. I believe the AF was triggered when I bought a bicycle and I was trying to ride up a hill, so it was the physical exertion. Since then I quit smoking and drinking anything with caffeine. I drink a 6 pack once a week. Recently, I was trying to lose weight so I ate smaller and smaller meals, but I was still riding my bike and working out at health club. I use to get my heart rate up to 140 bpm twice a week, but I slacked off from doing that. I stopped for a water ice one day and then I ate it too fast and I felt that brain freeze, and then I believe that is when my heart started AF. Also I was on a 40mg maintenance dosage of beta pace for the past 2 1/2 years. That week I missed taking 2 days of beta pace, so that may of had something to do with it too. |
---|
Preventions | They didn't find anything wrong my heart, and I have no symptoms at all. In my case I think this happened because of a poor diet and I was very active and then I missed a couple of days of my beta pace, and I wasn't exercising my heart like I use to. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | 160 beta pace--- 300 cardizem--- 5 warfarin |
---|
Past medications/side effects | 40mg maintanence dosage for 2 1/2 years |
---|
History of surgery | none |
---|
Future plans | Get back to regular heat beat, improve my diet, go back to raising my heart level to 140 twice a week, be satisfied with taking beta pace, maybe 2 40mg each day?
Heart was shocked back to a normal beat 1 month after the AF started. |
---|
Personal comments | I sometimes feel scared more than anything when I lay down and feel the irregular beating and I sometimes feel like a thud feeling in my chest. |
