Frequency of episodes | 7-8 times a year |

Duration of episodes | seconds up to several hours (max 28) |

General health | good, non smoker, reasonably fit |
---|
Current state | OK. Coming to terms with condition |
---|
Triggers | Dehydration, Red wine, large meals, greasy food, tiredness, stooping, stretching, stress. |
---|
Preventions | Don't get overtired. Avoid large meals, especially late at night. Don't bend over and extend arms at same time. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | Not taking any medication apart from 25mg aspirin daily and magnesium and potassium supplements. |
---|
Past medications/side effects | None |
---|
History of surgery | None |
---|
Future plans | Am losing weight and avoiding large meals and fatty or rich foods.
Am keeping calm during episodes and using slow breathing and stretching with moderate exercise to help reversion. Seems to work. Sometimes a small amount of plain food seems to help the heart drop back into sinus. |
---|
Personal comments | Haven't found doctors particularly helpful. They all seem to want to use drugs which have side effects which seem to be worse than the problem.
Trying to remember that the problem though frightening is unlikely to be fatal seems to help.
At least you feel great when you revert!
