Personal comments | First episode I stayed in hospital for a week until I reverted. Had Heparin drip for the week and various drips including Digoxin . Finally reverted with Flecainide IV on 5th day and within 1 hour of being given the dose As I had been in AF so long I was kept in for a couple of days after.
When in AF (fast - circa 200 bpm) most effective treatment is Flecainide IV, I now have some Flecainide as "pill in pocket" but have never taken one. I have also had Amioderone through a central line.
Had PVI at Papworth. Very worried before hand but the procedure and hospital stay was fine.
Had chest soreness for 5 or 6 days and very severe heartburn for a couple of weeks.
Feel fine now. |
