Current state | trying to get on wait list for EP exam and speak with someone that does ablations, disapointed with health care system waits.Disapointed that medical system doesnt see this as life altering because they see so much of it they are not proactive in solutions |
---|
Triggers | 3 times after exercise and typically at rest either sitting or lying down in the evening, although one time it came on during exercise in the middle of the day. Off coffee, chocolate, tea, alchohol, and it hasnt made much difference. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | bisoprolol 5mg in morning and 2.5 at evening. Makes me tired due to low heart rate, but when in afib my rate at 91 compared to non-drug times it has been at 170. So the bisoprolol helps keep the feeling of a heart pounding in the chest down and that helps keep the anxiety down during episodes. The beta blocker has limited me from running to walking. I have propafenone but refuse to take it until I understand more. |

Past medications/side effects | none |

History of surgery | none |

Future plans | seeking ablation information.........not just success stories to make an informed decision. |

Personal comments | Disapointed in getting doctors to see this as life altering. They see it so much in the elderly and end to leave them in it. I find this discouraging concidering there is, by the information I have so far, effective ablation techniques. One doctor actual said I can speed the process up if I was in afib all the time and had a stroke. I though this was a sad statement......presently there is a 2 year waiting list for ablation, after getting on the list, which so far has taken 6 months |
