History of surgery Never had any health problems prior to A-Fib. Had 2 Cardiac ablations in '07 Even though the Ablation Procedure takes about 6 hrs. they were both done out-patient and were not really that bad. If you need to have an ablation done I would'nt put it off!
Future plansTo be A-Fib free.Trying to put off having my 3rd ablation for fear of damaging pulmonary vein.
Personal commentsHad 1st TEE 9/06 which revealed a blood clot in heart. had 2nd TEE 11/06 then had cardioversion.12/06 2nd cardioversion 1/07 went to Emergency Room w/a-flutter.2/07 had 3rd TEE.4/07 4th TEE.5/07 had ablation done it lasted about 6 weeks. 6/07 had another cardioversion which lasted 6 weeks.9/07 2nd ablation done.Had only 1 episode in 08. 1/09 Dr. took me off Tikosyn.Went back into a-fib 3 times over the next month. Was taking 3 Tikosyn a day so went back to taking 1 Tikosyn a day.Back in NSR for now, have to wait and see what happens.UPDATE:10/30/09 now back to taking three tikosyn a day & having on average 3 episodes/week lasting 20 or 30 minutes each.
