Future plans | Due for catheter ablation in Paris in July 2007.
Update - ablation completed. NSR for the week following. Some tachycardia events but no irregularities. The medical treatment in Paris under Dr. Cauchmez has been excellent. Not on any antiarrythmic drugs.
The procedure was approx. 5 hrs and concentrated on the left pulmonary vein with a total of 80 burns. Hope to feel better and better as healing process continues. |

Personal comments | Had stroke in January 2007 and was found to have bradycardia.
Pacemaker implanted March 2007 for bradycardia but no alleviation of afib
despite atrial pacing.
A very difficult condition to treat or control and when in afib I am extremely symptomatic.
Has ruined family/social life so hope the ablation works. The drug therapies seem at best to control afib for a very short period only and at worst have no effect at all.
I empathise with anyone who has afib - it's a very insidious condition and just gets harder and harder to control the longer it lasts. I hope everyone gets some relief or cure from it. |
