Diagnosed condition | Afib - A flutter |

Years with condition | 1.3 |

Frequency of episodes | x1 a week |
---|
Duration of episodes | seconds to hours |
---|
Event preceding first AF | None |
---|
General health | Generally health is OK, no diagnosed diseases other than Afib |
---|
Current state | Getting worse in one sence, better in other. |
---|
Triggers | Onset seems to be totally random. Stress, bending over, sleeping or just lying down...sometimes no reason even while standing or sitting. Usually is preceeded by ectopic or skipped beats which are getting worse. |
---|
Preventions | None |
---|
Current medications/side effects | Flecanide as pill in the pocket if duration is lengthy.
Lisiniprol for blood pressure which has been averaging around 130/75 with a delta of 115/70 to 159/81 over a 10 month period.
Klorkon: they claim my potassium was low on trips to ER. |
---|
Past medications/side effects | Atenolol: anxiety, tightness in chest, malaise.
Digoxin: anxiety, shortness of breath, tightness in chest, malaise.

History of surgery | Ablation for A-flutter.
On trips to ER with 12-20 hour Afib, EP found that I was flipping between A-fib, A-flutter and PSVT. A-flutter was ablated in Aug 06. Afib events are now shorter and if they last more than 15 minutes, I take 250mg of Flecanide. Longest events since ablation have been around 5 hours. EP could not trigger PSVT so no ablation for that was performed. |

Future plans | Ectopic beats are getting more intense and more frequent. Some nights I only get several hours of sleep as they wake me up.
I have been going to Mayo clinic for tests and this is still continuing. |

Personal comments | Despite the docs assurance that this is just a condition of inconvenience, a lack of sleep, feer to travel anywhere without modern medical facilites, and a general lack of ability to focus on daily responsibilities due to this "jolt" that occurs is depressing.
I think the biggest problem is the speed at which are medical system works. Slow would not describe it. Take a test...make an appointment a month from now, try this pill, take another test, more pills. |
