General health | non smoker, regular drinker but not excessive otherwise generally have been in good health |
---|
Current state | currently no reoccurrence, but am teetotal at moment and on drugs |
---|
Triggers | believed to be alcohol, although maybe maybe vagal as
had far more food that i would normally have. |
---|
Preventions | first eposide was cured by iv drug after 6th day
in hospital (believe called angoran but is maybe local
greek name).one week later back in again and again
iv drug restored sinus rhythm after 22 hours. |

Current medications/side effects | on propafenone 150 mg 3 times daily
on sintrom (blood thinner) 2mg daily

blocker 90 mg twice daily
coversyl (perindorpil-ACE inhibitor) 2 mg once daily
had been put on diaretics but saw second consultant who said not necessary if no swelling in ankles/wrist)
heart ejection rate was 48 pct so first doctor prob being bit too cautious.
currently fortunate not to have any side effects ive noticed although feel need to change my glasses perscription as propafenone has maybe slight side effect there.??
|
---|
Past medications/side effects | first doctor recommended soltalol after 2nd episode
but second consultant said should have been monitored on it first and bad side effects (as i see from this site)
so put me on propafenone which much more tolerant.

also to keep getting opinions as feel that each
consultant has different ideas and new methods coming in.
|
---|
Personal comments | was quite shock to system when first occurred as couldnt
understand why me,having been non smoker always thought
my heart would be ok.(father had heart attack at 50 as was smoker).now see sometime no real reason for it and affects
people in different ways.feel these sites/resources are useful as need to build knowledge so can question what consultant say and not always meekly go along with what they recommend. |
