Years with condition12months

Duration of episodesVariable
Event preceding first AFShortness of breath but I put it down to lack of exercise, some palpations I put that down to stress.
General healthNon-smoker ,Love a pint of Guinness, suffer from gout ( 4 bouts yearly)
Current stateFatigue in the afternoon and after meals, due for first EP visit June 2006.
TriggersA stressful event 12 mths ago could have sparked something,I had some dental work 12 mths ago and am currently looking into the dental fillings as a possible trigger.
Preventions I cut back on the pints to just 3 a week from 12 ,avoid stressful situtations and cut back on the hours I work.
Current medications/side effectsEmcor 2.5mgs,Tritace 5mgs,Warafin 6mgs.The side effects vary and I'm not too sure if its the a-fib or the meds. I'm definitely lacking in energy ,Fatigue especially evening, Light headed after lying down for a time, sweating after little exertion, shortness of breath, feet can get very cold even numb in colder weather, indigestion and heart burn after certain foods.
Past medications/side effectsDid'nt take any meds previous except Difane for the gout and the odd tablet for a cold ,no side effects.
History of surgeryAppendix removed, surgery on a smashed wrist after a hurling game.None so far on the above condition except an angiogram.
Future plansPlanning on another attempt at Cardio--version (1st one failed).Meeting an EP for the 1st time 26th June.Hoping to get back to NSR and will have ablation if I'm a suitable candidate.
Personal commentsQuality of life has changed some what,I'm a self employed Electrical contracting engineer with a staff of eight to look after as well as a wife and 4 children 2 of which are school going , 2 out working.I have a positive view and consider myself lucky that this is an illness which I can cope with .I'm generally in good health and know alot of people worse off than me.I play music twice weekly and this helps to concentrate the mind and helps me relax.
