---|
Triggers | Physical exertion and stress and /or anxiety. No problem dealing with the physical exertion but later in the day, while at rest, AF can settle in. |
---|
Preventions | I have a history of LAF occuring during the early hours of sleep. For the last few months I have been taking Pepcid and/or Tums before bedtime and have not had an AF occurance during sleep. Don't know why it works and I never took antacids, etc. in the past. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I have tried to avoid meds. I take Rythmol at the onset of an AF attack and it greatly reduces the time period to convert to normal sinus rythm. |
---|
Current medications/side effects |
See above about Rythmol. I also use aspirin when in AF.
Rythmol was prescribed by my current cardiologist. He put me on 500mg daily but I am only taking it when needed.
Synthroid to improve thyroid function ( for about as long
as I have AF) I have always thought their is a connection but the docs don't agree. |
---|
Past medications/side effects | Toprol did nothing but slowed my heart rate. |
---|
History of surgery | Varicose veins 40 years ago and a hernia in 1998. |
---|
Future plans | Day to day management and continued internet research. |
