Current medications/side effects1. bisoprolol (cardicor) 1.25 to 2.5 mg per day
side effects: tiredness, depression, slow heart rate

2. Aspirin 300 milligram tablet daily
Past medications/side effects10 years on salmeterol and beclamethasone for supposed asthma - now discontinued

prescribed digoxin when first diagnosed - remained in Afib for 2 weeks until I discontinued tablets
Future planswould like catheter ablation treatment eventually but cardiologist advises waiting until more research on use of the technique for Afib has been carried out.
Currently, main aim is to keep in sinus rhythm as much as possible.
Personal commentsI used to enjoy running but now running for more than a mile or two at a slow pace causes my Afib. I have a naturally slow heart rhythm from all my running (approx 45 bpm) and beta-blockers slow this down to the extent that they sometimes give me problems. I feel OK most of the time when I'm in sinus rhythm but in Afib I quickly get breathless, feel tired and find even climbing stairs, housework etc difficult. Sometimes get very depressed - suspect this is side effect of the beta blockers
