Triggers | I have episodes after exercise and while coaching my youth baseball team. Adrenaline seems to be a primary trigger. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | Disopyramide, atenolol & aspirin
The disopyramide causes urine retention. I became extremely ill and was hospitalized for three days with a bladder infection. My dosage of disopyramide was then reduced from 150 mg to 100 mg three times daily. I have not had a bladder problem with the reduced dosage. |
---|
Past medications/side effects | I was previously on flecanide which caused me to have AF more frequently. |
---|
Future plans | My EP is referring me to two EPs at the Mayo Clinic. I will discuss having a catheter ablation with them. I have also considered tikosyn, but I'm tired of the medicinal merry-go-round. |
---|
Personal comments | AF is contantly on my mind. I've had to alter my active lifestyle. This condition has changed my personality and destroyed my quality of life. I don't know if I'm patient enough to wait for technological advancements. I may consider the MAZE procedure. |
