Event preceding first AF | None |

General health | Blood pressure |
---|
Current state | Struggling to maintain normal life and am about to consider ablation. |
---|
Triggers | I do not seem to be able to identify a trigger but when I'm in AF I can not drink or eat as this increases the heart rate. |
---|
Preventions | I do not have a prevention that controls the episode. |
---|
Current medications/side effects | Metoprolol 100mg twice a day
Warfarin (Coumadin) various depending on INR
|
---|
Past medications/side effects | Sotalol
Flecainide
Enderal
I do not tolerate these very well and have had many side effects. Plus they do not control may AF. |
---|
History of surgery | I have had cardioversion both electrical & drug. Each time I am an emergency at hospital. I have not had any surgery. |
---|
Future plans | I am about to undertake an ablation as the AF is causing great distress. When I experience long episodes I feel very unwell with dizziness, vomiting & sweating and can not function with my daily life.
I am quite concerned about the procedure and am interested in other peoples experiences with ablation. |
---|
Personal comments | I hope that I can gain an insight to other peoples experiences through this site. |
