Current state | Fibrillation is bothersome, usually only tired at end of day |
---|
Triggers | None. I've tried several different lifestyles, more/less exercise, no stress, it just starts on it's own. |
---|
Preventions | None, sometimes if I pound on my chest or cough when I feel a skip or pound in my heart, it will go back to normal. Other times it goes into full fibrillation. |

Current medications/side effects | Verapmil, Digoxin, Mevacor, Warfarin - no side effects |
---|
Past medications/side effects | The above medications are all I've taken |

Future plans | Live with it. I have researched various sites on the Internet, nothing seems to be a perfect solution. I have recently read about an ICD, or Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator, I may ask my cardiologist about it. |

Personal comments | I have lived with AFib so long, but one still thinks about it when one's heart is involved. Will it lead to other heart problems? One never knows. The first few years it was a hit and miss thing, always starting in the middle of the night and lasting 5-12 hours. After I retired from my stressful job, found a new love in my life and totally settled down to being happy, my AFib became worse, for over a year I fibrillated constantly. It comes and goes at it's own will, seems there is nothing I can do to prevent it or stop it once it starts. It has not impaired my life style, I hike, travel 4 months of the year, garden and do all the things in life I would like to. |
