Build your own projector
One in-line connector holds the fine focus unit and allows for focus adjustment. The other holds and protects the objective lens.
Make a hole through the centre of the cardboard shield big enough for the projector tube to fit through. Seal the join with tape. Fit another sheet of card in the bottom of the box to act as a screen. The shield casts a shadow over the screen, allowing you to see the projected image more easily.
DO NOT sight through the projector at the Sun!
To sight on the Sun, adjust the tube until you cannot see its shadow on the shield. It is now correctly sighted and an image of the Sun appears on the ground. Move the box until you catch the image of the Sun in it. You may need to adjust the fine focus tube to sharpen the picture.
